Core Moment Outdoors was a COVID-era project focused on practical camping guides, hiking tips, and outdoor gear reviews. I built it as a resource for people looking to get outside with honest advice based on real experience.

What Core Moment Was About

The site covered everything from car camping basics to wilderness skills. I focused on gear reviews, trail recommendations, and practical how-to content for people who wanted straightforward information without the fluff.

I enjoyed writing it. The outdoor niche felt authentic to me, and there was something satisfying about helping people prepare for trips or choose the right gear.

What Happened

The site launched during the pandemic when everyone was rediscovering the outdoors. Traffic grew steadily through 2023 and into early 2024. Then search got weird. Independent affiliate sites like Core Moment started losing ground to big brands and aggregator platforms. By mid-2025, the traffic was gone. The content was still good, but the game had changed.

I kept the domain active for a while, checking in every few months to see if things would turn around. They didn’t. At some point you have to accept that the platform you built on doesn’t want you there anymore.
